Description
This course will work to deepen learners understanding of domestic abuse through an intersectional lens with a particular focus on collectivist cultures. It will also enhance cultural competency in responding to domestic abuse within cultural contexts whilst acknowledging the barriers faced by survivors.

Learning Objectives
• Define and apply the concept of intersectionality in the context of DA
• Identify key cultural factors and societal norms within collectivist communities that may influence experiences of DA
• Recognise and challenge organisational and personal biases to improve cultural competency and ensure services are accessible and inclusive
• Develop culturally responsive approaches to supporting survivors
• Explore best practices for collaborative, intersectional and trauma informed responses to DA.
